You’re my person

It’s funny how you find those that you need to learn from. I have always been in the business of serving others. My fulfillment in life is to help others, isn’t that why we were placed here on earth? To help the marginalized, the less fortunate, those that need an extra hand?

I think about my own son and all the blessings he has brought to us. We have met a village of people that he has drawn to us. From the time he was a toddler we met wonderful doctors and therapists that helped navigate the diagnosis of PDD-NOS. What kind of acronym is that? It stands for Pervasive Developmental Disorder - Not Otherwise Specified. What did that mean? Well back then in 1995 it meant that a whole lot of people didn’t know a whole lot of things. Autism was just beginning to disrupt the world. I could tell you a lot more and I will in the upcoming year or years.

Right now I just want to hit the start button and tell you a little bit about the friends that gather at Buda’s Brightside. They are all kind of my person; I have JC on a daily basis but as I have learned about each friend I have come to love their personalities and the love they give. Come back and I’ll tell you a little about each one.

JC he’s mine. I learn so much from him every day. To just enjoy the little things, what am I eating? When am I going to get a break? What music will I have to listen to? Can I not go outside because it’s hot or really just because it stirs up my allergies? Can I have a soda? Can I play with legos? Can I do a puzzle? Can I not have you looking over my shoulder? Lol, yes we try not to sweat the small stuff at home and just deal with changes in schedule.
